“One-on-one coaching with Joan has changed the trajectory of my life.

I began working with Joan to learn how to fix the recurrent challenges showing up in my relationships. Through our work together, Joan has given me so much more. She has helped me address the negative, recurring patterns that had been showing up in all aspects of my life: career, relationships, health, and family.

My mindset has shifted from tolerating life to being an active participant, to now pursuing an impactful and joyful life, which I love!

I have finally found my purpose and live life intentionally, seeking happiness and excellence in all I set out to do.

Joan has helped me understand I am deserving of a great life.

I am immensely grateful for Joan’s guidance and the profound impact this work has had on my life.

What is it like to coach with Joan – from a client’s view

One-on-one coaching with Joan was uniquely valuable – and different than any resource I had used before.

Observations from Alicea, a physician and mother of three young children.

I thought I was going to Joan for career coaching and what I got was so much more.  She helped me find purpose and gain clarity on what I am uniquely on this planet to contribute.

Through Joan’s coaching, I shifted my thinking from “Am I good enough?” to see instead that I have hard earned skills and am committed to excellence, contribution to others and professional success.

Joan showed me that there is great value in what I have learned as a mother, and I can bring this value and insight to a professional career as a voice that is important in the public health conversation. She showed me that I can be committed both to my own career path and my children’s success and happiness and that I have a right to both.

I learned from Joan that I am valuable, and I have a right to a great life.  That I can step out of the world of the defined, and create my own professional goals, ones that combine the different areas I am passionate about such as communications, writing, community engagement and medicine.

That I have valuable hard-earned skills that I can use to make a contribution of my own design.

I learned from Joan, to reframe the fear I had in pursuing success as creative tension that arises from being on the edge of doing something great, and that mastering this tension comes from breaking down the obstacles between the idea and producing the result.

She showed me that if we want to think big, we have an obligation to do so, but finding courage to do big things sometimes comes from starting small.

She taught me not only to not be afraid of taking a chance on creating professional goals around my own vision, but to truly believe that the world is hungry for my contribution.

Joan is incredibly insightful, patient and caring and guides you to unfold a life that you really love living.

In short, I would say it changed my life working with Joan and I could not be more thankful.

She understands the challenges that successful women face when they want to bring a loving partner into their lives. Joan faced these challenges herself when she was divorced at age 57.  She is now happily married to a loving man whom she met on Match.com. They are living a full life together, working, playing, staying fit, and enjoying their many children and grandchildren.

She earned her AB, EdM and EdD degrees from Harvard University. Her research focused on the practices of high-performing leaders.

Through our most recent coaching sessions, I started to realize that my thoughts are creating my world and the life that I am living in. The statement that we created in the last session together ‘I am at peace and others love me exactly the way I am’ is very powerful.

I started to become aware of how often I am telling myself that others would not like me for who I am and I have to do more or be better so that others will love me. Only after I quiet down that inner voice, I am at peace with myself and with others, and I can truly experience life. Thank you very much for your coaching, Joan, as always!
